Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan met with the head of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd.

On June 28, 2025, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Kenji Sanada, Executive Director of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd., who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet, Kenji Sanada congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people on the second anniversary of the opening of the “smart” Arkadag city, which has no equivalents in the region and was built on the basis of advanced digital, information, communication and “green” technologies. Taking this opportunity, the guest conveyed to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan cordial greetings from Emperor Naruhito of Japan and Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, who addressed best wishes to the whole Turkmen nation.

Warmly welcoming the guest, the National Leader of Turkmen people addressed his best wishes to the leadership of the friendly country. Expressing confidence that this visit of the guest will give an effective impulse to further expansion of bilateral trade and economic relations, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan wished successful holding of the planned meetings.

As noted, the development of a constructive dialogue with the states of the Asia-Pacific region is defined as one of the strategic vectors of Turkmenistan’s foreign economic policy. At the same time, great importance is given to strengthening fruitful ties with Japan, who is a long-standing reliable partner of Turkmenistan.

Japanese companies have established themselves as reliable partners in the implementation of major projects for the construction of industrial complexes in our country. In this context, the effectiveness of long-term cooperation with the Kawasaki company, which participated in the implementation of a number of important projects in Turkmenistan, was noted.

During the meeting, Hero Arkadag and Kenji Sanada also considered new projects.

Emphasizing the significant potential for further development of bilateral cooperation, the National Leader of Turkmen people confirmed the readiness of our country to consider the proposals of the Kawasaki company in the field of innovative projects.
