President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for a working visit to New York
On September 21, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed for the United States of America on a working visit to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Head of state was seen off at the capital's International Airport by government officials.
Turkmenistan's interaction with the Community of Nations has continued since its accession to the UN in 1992. During this period, our country has participated in various initiatives of this largest international organization. Furthermore, Turkmenistan contributes to the work of the UN General Assembly and its specialized agencies, such as UNICEF, UNESCO, WHO, and the UN Development Programme.
Also, at Turkmenistan's initiative, the UN General Assembly adopted several important resolutions. Among them is the Resolution "2025 – International Year of Peace and Trust," which reaffirms Turkmenistan’s commitment to the principles of harmonious coexistence and cooperation.
The current working visit of the Head of state to New York, where the UN Headquarters is located, is a clear confirmation of our country's commitment to consistently strengthening and developing long-term and multifaceted relations.
A few hours later, the President of Turkmenistan's plane landed at John F.Kennedy International Airport in New York.
There, the Head of state was met by officials.
