Secretary-General of the International Parliamentarians Congress visits the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad

On August 4, 2026 the Secretary-General of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC), Senator Sitara Ayaz, paid a visit to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

During the meeting with the Ambassador A. Movlamov a comprehensive exchange of views took place on advancing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IPC. Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening interparliamentary engagement, expanding dialogue among parliamentarians across the region, and fostering institutional cooperation between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the IPC.

The two sides also discussed opportunities to organize international conferences, roundtable discussions, and parliamentary forums with the participation of legislators from Central Asian countries. It was noted that such initiatives could serve as an effective platform for promoting parliamentary diplomacy, sharing legislative best practices, and developing coordinated approaches to regional and global challenges.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan supported the idea of further strengthening relations between the parliaments of our countries. Senator Sitara Ayaz highly appreciated Neutral policy of Turkmenistan and expressed her gratitude for the constructive dialogue.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular dialogue and enhancing cooperation through joint initiatives aimed at strengthening interparliamentary relations, promoting regional partnership, and encouraging greater exchange among legislators.
