Meeting with the Rector of NUST University in Islamabad

On April 28, 2023, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan A.Movlamov called on Javed Mahmood Bukhari, Rector of the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad to discuss cooperation in the field of science, education, and research between Turkmenistan and NUST University.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side briefed the Rector on the Foreign and Internal Policy of Turkmenistan and the social-economic developments of the country. Particular emphasis was made on Arkadag city, which is being built on the "smart" city concept by the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen People the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

During the meeting, both sides shared their thoughts about the great potential of bilateral economic cooperation and underscored the importance of the rapid implementation of joint TAPI and TAP projects, which would contribute to the economic growth of Pakistan.

The Pakistani side expressed interest in the participation of Pakistani experts in the projects of Arkadag city. For further development of science and educational cooperation, parties agreed on the importance of building linkages between the higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and NUST University.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Osman Hasan, Pro-Rector (Academics) NUST and Dr. Rizwan Riaz, Pro-Rector Research, Innovation & Commercialisation NUST, and 3rd secretary of Turkmenistan Embassy Mr. H.Annamuhammedov.
