Press briefing on the “CONCEPT of activities and priorities of Turkmenistan within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust” was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad
On January 27, 2025, a briefing for local media representatives was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. It was dedicated to the "CONCEPT of the activities and priorities of Turkmenistan within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust."
During the briefing, it was brought to the attention of the event participants that, given the current conditions in the international arena, Turkmenistan advocates for consolidating international efforts to overcome the current crisis on a creative platform and forming appropriate political and diplomatic prerequisites and opportunities for this.
An important milestone on this path was the adoption by the UN General Assembly, at Turkmenistan's initiative, of the resolution "International Year of Peace and Trust, 2025," which reflected the fundamental goals and principles of the UN Charter, in particular the obligation to resolve emerging disputes by peaceful means and methods.
This resolution became a practical embodiment of the philosophy of new international relations "Dialogue is a guarantee of peace", declared by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
To realize the possibility of a qualitative transition to a new stage in international relations, Turkmenistan has developed and adopted the "Concept of Activities and Priorities of Turkmenistan within the Framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust."
During the briefing, a detailed presentation on the Concept was presented to the guests, reflecting the areas of Turkmenistan's activities on security issues, and humanization of international relations, including within the framework of multilateral structures related to ensuring the rights of refugees and stateless persons, supporting motherhood and childhood, as well as creating conditions for the comprehensive development of youth, realizing their potential in science, creativity, and sports.
In essence, Turkmenistan’s initiative is an invitation and call to all states to begin joint work, including the political, ideological, and practical aspects of implementing peace and trust as a fundamental principle of world order.
