On 21 October 2026, the International Conference and Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026” commenced at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The international event, held for the 31st time in the year proclaimed “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Horses”, was organised by the State Concerns “Türkmengaz” and “Türkmennebit” in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The participants listened attentively to the Address of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, welcoming the forum.

The participants then visited the exhibition, where more than 130 major companies representing key players in the global fuel and energy market presented their stands.

The international conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2026” began its sessions in the afternoon. The discussions addressed a range of pressing issues, including global trends in energy market development and opportunities for cooperation, the development of existing oil and gas fields and the optimisation of production at new deposits with the involvement of foreign investment. Particular attention was paid to the development of offshore blocks in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea and the intensification of drilling operations in new areas.

During the plenary sessions, participants discussed the strategic priorities for the development of Turkmenistan’s energy sector, its role in ensuring regional energy security and strengthening international cooperation. Particular attention was given to diversifying natural gas exports, developing pipeline infrastructure, implementing major international projects, including the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline, and developing the Galkynysh gas field.

The participants highlighted Turkmenistan’s consistent efforts to modernise its oil and gas industry, introduce advanced and environmentally friendly technologies, expand capacity for deep processing of hydrocarbons, and increase the production of value-added products.

It was emphasised that the country’s energy strategy, based on the principles of neutrality, mutually beneficial partnership and sustainable development, aims to strengthen the reliability of international energy supplies and enhance Turkmenistan’s role as one of the region’s key energy hubs.

The international forum subsequently continued with panel discussions.

The conference will continue with thematic breakout sessions.
