The UN General Assembly has declared 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. This declaration aims to strengthen global peace and trust through dialogue and diplomacy.

The International Year of Peace and Trust coincides with the 30th anniversary of the universal recognition of Turkmenistan’s status of Permanent Neutrality. This status was first affirmed through the UN General Assembly resolution “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan,” unanimously adopted on December 12, 1995, and reaffirmed in 2015. Further reinforcing this commitment, in 2017, the UN General Assembly, unanimously adopted a resolution declaring December 12 as the International Day of Neutrality. More recently, on March 21, 2025, during the 61st plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the resolution “Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan” was adopted by consensus under Agenda Item 61, “Peacebuilding and Peacekeeping.”

To commemorate these significant milestones, the Government of Turkmenistan, in collaboration with international organizations, is organizing various national and international events to mark 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of the country’s Permanent Neutrality.

As part of these efforts, Turkmenistan has launched a dedicated website for the high-level International Forum "Peace and Trust," scheduled to take place in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025. The multilingual website, available in Turkmen, English, and Russian, provides comprehensive information about the forum, including its agenda, as well as insights into Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, development strategy, and achievements in various fields such as economy, healthcare, education, and science.

Visitors to the website (www.neutrality.gov.tm) can register for the forum by submitting an online application. Additionally, the platform features a news feed, a photo gallery showcasing key events in Turkmenistan’s international engagements, and an archive of publications.

Serving as a digital hub for this prestigious event, the website not only supports the organization of the forum but also enhances Turkmenistan’s international standing, reinforcing its reputation as a committed advocate for peace and neutrality on the global stage.
