Islamabad hosted events in honour of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi
On 24 October 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, jointly with the Institute of Peace and Diplomacy Studies Pakistan and the management of Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad held an opening ceremony of the ‘Magtymguly Fragi Corner’ followed by the international scientific and practical conference “Classics of Oriental Wisdom: the intellectual legacy of Magtymguly Fragi and Allama Iqbal” at the Allama Iqbal Open University of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The conference featured speeches by the Federal Secretary for National Heritage and Culture of the Government of Pakistan Mr. Hassan Nasir Jami, Vice Chancellor, AIOU Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, President of the Pakistan Institute for Peace and Diplomacy Studies Mrs. Farhat Asif, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Atadjan Movlamov and others experts.
The guest of the event, keynote speaker Mr. Serdar Atayev, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Archeology, Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Turkmenistan delivered an insightful speech on the creativity of Magtymguly Fragi.
Speakers at the conference noted the similarity between the works of Magtymguly Fragi and Allama Ikbal, which made a significant impact on the culture and the history of the region.
At the end of the meeting, the commemorative gifts on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi were presented to the guests of the event.
