LCCI delegation visits Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad

On August 1, 2025, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad with representatives of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by its Secretary General Shahid Khalil. During the meeting, prospects for strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan were discussed.

Particular attention was given to the establishment of direct business contacts between private sector representatives of both countries, the creation of favorable conditions for building sustainable business ties, as well as participation in joint sectoral exhibitions, investment forums, and business missions. Both sides emphasized the importance of active exchange of experience and information between chambers of commerce, business associations, and entrepreneurs from both nations.

It was noted that Turkmenistan possesses significant trade, economic, transport, and logistics potential, and its strategic geographic location positions the country as a key transit and energy bridge between Central and South Asia. In this context, opportunities for cooperation were highlighted in the areas of transport, infrastructure development, energy, agriculture, as well as the textile and chemical industries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to developing sustainable, mutually beneficial, and multifaceted cooperation.
