Ambassador of Turkmenistan discussed the prospects of cooperation between the ports of Pakistan and Turkmenistan
On September 1, 2025, during a meeting with the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs of Pakistan Muhammad Junaid Anwar, Ambassador of Turkmenistan A. Movlamov discussed ways of effective use of the transit and logistics potential of the seaports of Turkmenbashi, Karachi and Gwadar, which are of strategic importance for regional trade and transport links.
Broad prospects for cooperation in the development of railway infrastructure, which can play a key role in ensuring sustainable transport links between the countries of the region, were also noted.
The importance and relevance of multilateral cooperation were emphasized, particularly in leveraging Pakistan’s strategic location as a bridge to strengthen economic ties, diversify supply routes, and enhance the region’s overall transit potential.
At the conclusion of the meeting, parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a constructive dialogue across the identified areas. They also underscored the urgency of translating joint initiatives into practical action, in support of sustainable economic growth, increased regional connectivity, and deeper partnerships.
