Ambassador of Turkmenistan Meets with Advisor and National Coordinator on Tourism to the Prime Minister of Pakistan in Islamabad

On August 20, 2026, at the head office of Centaurus in Islamabad, Ambassador A. Movlamov met with Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, Advisor and National Coordinator for Tourism to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and CEO of The Centaurus Group.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Pakistan. It was noted that the year 2026 is celebrated in Turkmenistan under the motto “Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged horses” and is marked by the 35th anniversary of the country’s state Independence.

The Turkmen side informed about the events held within the framework of the year dedicated to national horse breeding and Akhal-Teke horses. In particular, it was noted that on September 4–6, 2026, the world’s first Akhal-Teke Horse Championship will be held at the horse breeding center of Pilberg, the Netherlands.

The Pakistani side expressed interest in establishing and developing cooperation between specialized institutions of Turkmenistan and Pakistan in the field of equestrian sports, including holding joint events, exchanging experience and expanding contacts between specialists and representatives of equestrian organizations of the two countries.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to promote the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at strengthening sports, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two fraternal countries.
