Meeting in Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industries

On November 7, 2023, at the invitation of the Pakistani side, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atadjan Movlamov visited the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industries.

At the beginning of the meeting, the president of the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders & Small Industries (ICSTSI) Mr. Sajjad Sarwar briefed the Ambassador on the activities of the members of the Chamber.

The Turkmen side made a presentation about the domestic and foreign policies of the Government of Turkmenistan. During which the country's economic achievements were reported, including the introduction of a new city named Arkadag, being built based on the smart city concept. The ambassador spoke about the government's policy supporting and developing the private sector of the economy.

The meeting participants highly appreciated the progress in implementing joint TAPI and TAP projects that are of great strategic significance to Asia in terms of energy requirements as well as for employment generation and infrastructure development. At the same time, it was noted that there is enormous potential for expanding trade turnover between Pakistan and Turkmenistan. Including the level of small and medium-sized businesses, which will contribute to the further strengthening of the economies of the two countries, the growth of production and employment of population.
