Prospects for cooperation between Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka were discussed in Islamabad
On June 30, 2025, the newly appointed High Commissioner-Designate of Sri Lanka to Pakistan Rear Admiral Fred Seneviratne (Rtd.) visited the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad and met with the Ambassador of Turkmenistan A. Movlamov.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador A. Movlamov congratulated the guest on his new appointment in Islamabad and extended his best wishes for success in the role.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in the region and prospects for the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Sri Lanka, expressing mutual interest in enhancing business contacts and expanding partnership in various fields. The significant potential for cooperation in various sectors that can give additional impetus to the development of bilateral relations was emphasized.
Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue in this direction, using existing diplomatic channels and bilateral cooperation mechanisms.
