The President of Turkmenistan participated in the second Central Asia–Russia Summit

On 9 October 2025, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the second “Central Asia – Russia” Summit, which was held at the Reception Palace in Dushanbe.

The summit, chaired by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, was also attended by the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.

Before the meeting, a joint photo session was held for the participants of the Central Asia-Russia Summit.

Warmly welcoming the participants of the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon expressed his gratitude to all for accepting the invitation to visit Tajikistan, expressing his confidence that this Summit will take cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

The participants of the meeting then took the floor.

In his speech, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon for the warm welcome and hospitality.  

The President of Turkmenistan noted that Central Asia and Russia not only form a vast geographical area, but are also united by centuries-old historical, political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties.

The importance of joint activities to strengthen stability and security in Central Asia was emphasised.  In this context, the importance of coordinating cooperation in international structures, in particular the UN, was highlighted.

The President of Turkmenistan noted that it is necessary to return international relations to the path of civilised communication, to restore a culture of respectful dialogue, predictability and trust.

He outlined the position of Turkmenistan and initiatives regarding the expansion of economic ties and cooperation in the areas of transport connectivity, energy, innovation and the environment.

The President of Turkmenistan underlined the importance of cultural and humanitarian ties between the countries participating in this format. 

At the end of his speech, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed the readiness of Turkmenistan to cooperate and the assuredness in the necessity and great potential of such a format of interaction as “Central Asia–Russia”.
