On November 6, 2026, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan hosted a briefing for representatives of the Pakistani media. The event focused on major international events hosted by Turkmenistan in 2026, as well as prospects for further expanding cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.

Media representatives were informed about key developments in Turkmenistan’s political, economic, cultural, and social life during the year marking the 35th anniversary of the country’s Independence, commemorated under the motto: “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses.”

Particular attention was devoted to high-level state and international events held in Ashgabat and the National Tourist Zone “Avaza.” These events served as important milestones in promoting regional dialogue, strengthening peace and stability, advancing sustainable development, enhancing energy cooperation, and expanding transport and transit connectivity, thereby underscoring Turkmenistan’s growing international standing.

A prominent place in the briefing was given to the regular session of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan, a landmark event of national significance in the life of the Turkmen people. The session addressed key domestic and foreign policy issues, identified priority areas for the country’s further development, and reaffirmed the commitment to improving public well-being, supporting the younger generation, and ensuring the continued prosperity of the country.

The briefing also highlighted prospects for implementing major joint regional projects, including TAPI gas pipeline and TAP power transmission project, alongside the development of transport and telecommunications infrastructure.

Representatives of Pakistani media outlets expressed their appreciation to the Embassy of Turkmenistan for organizing the briefing and providing comprehensive information. They highlighted the importance of the international events hosted by Turkmenistan, noting their contribution to strengthening regional dialogue, expanding multilateral cooperation, and advancing initiatives aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and sustainable development.

The briefing provided an important platform for familiarizing the Pakistani public with Turkmenistan’s foreign policy initiatives, its contribution to regional cooperation, and the considerable potential for further strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
