On August 20, 2026, a delegation from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications of Pakistan, led by Muhammad Amir Malik, a member of the Department of International Coordination, visited Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad.

The meeting focused on prospects for further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of information technology. The parties noted the significant potential for expanding interaction and implementing new joint initiatives across a wide range of areas.

The guests were briefed on Turkmenistan's information technology (IT) policy, aimed at improving living standards through the introduction of advanced technologies and the complete digital transformation of the economy, public administration, and the social sphere.

During the meeting, the guests were briefed on events held as part of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's state Independence, celebrated under the motto "Independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful heavenly horses." Particular attention was paid to the historical and socio-political significance of the upcoming September meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, as well as the first-ever Akhal-Teke Horse Championship, which will be held in the Netherlands from September 4–6, 2026. This event will be a key international event promoting the Akhal-Teke horse, expanding cultural ties, and strengthening Turkmenistan's positive international image.

The parties confirmed their readiness to continue to support each other's initiatives in the international arena and to further strengthen the friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
