A SEMINAR AT COMSATS, ISLAMABAD YEAR 2021 - TURKMENISTAN – HOMELAND OF PEACE AND TRUST

Embassy of Turkmenistan, Pakistan in the World Magazine, Sidhu Welfare Trust and COMSATS jointly organized a Seminar on the subject of “The Year 2021 - Turkmenistan - Homeland of Peace and Trust”, in the premises of COMSATS on Friday, 19th February 2021.

Participants of the event were familiarized with the policy of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, Initiatives of Turkmenistan on the basis of positive neutrality policy to assure regional and international peace as well as the importance of the UN General Assembly Resolution declaring the year 2021 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.

Dr. Syed Junaid Zaidi, Executive Director of COMSATS, Ambassador Rtd. Fauzia Nasreen, Advisor to COMSATS on SDGs, Tazeen Akhtar, Editor of Pakistan in the World Magazine, Dr. Afshan Malik, Chairperson of Sindhu Welfare Trust delivered their speeches at the Seminar.

Speakers highly praised the Positive Neutrality Policy of Turkmenistan and, the role of the country in ensuring peace and stability in the Central Asian region. Participants also stressed the positive experience of Turkmenistan in this regard can be applied as a model at the international level.

Thanking Turkmenistan for initiating the International Year of Peace and Trust, they underlined that in view of the global situation, the need for peace and trust, this Resolution is a relevant and timely adopted document by the UN General assembly.

In addition, the importance of TAPI gas pipeline, fibre optic communication line and TAP power transmission projects in assuring peace and prosperous in the region was emphasized, and the Pakistani side stressed that the people of Pakistan are looking forward to completion of the above projects.

In the framework of the event, participants discussed the opportunities holding joint events, courses, seminars in science-education sector during the Year - Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust.
