The Ambassador of Turkmenistan calls on the Secretary of SIFC in Islamabad

On May 13, 2025, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan A. Movlamov called on the Secretary of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) of Pakistan Jamil Ahmad Qureshi.
After exchanging greetings, A. Movlamov briefed the Pakistani side on the current situation regarding the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project. He spoke about the progress of the construction of the gas pipeline on the Turgundi-Herat section in Afghanistan.
Both sides confirmed the strategic importance of the project, which will attract significant investments to the region and contribute to energy security and economic integration of all countries in the region. The Ambassador of Turkmenistan also emphasized that further implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project will improve mutual understanding and strengthen peace in the region.
During the discussion, the sides also considered the prospects for the development of other joint energy and infrastructure initiatives, including the TAP (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan) project. SIFC Secretary J.A. Qureshi expressed gratitude for the active cooperation of the Government of Turkmenistan in implementing energy projects with Pakistan and confirmed his country's interest in accelerating the practical implementation of the TAPI project.
At the end of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to expanding energy and trade partnership, as well as strengthening regional cooperation.
