On April 7, 2026, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad with representatives of one of Pakistan’s largest business associations, the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led by its Secretary General Shahid Khalil.

During the meeting, the representatives of the Lahore Chamber expressed their interest in strengthening cooperation with the Embassy to explore new opportunities for expanding practical engagement between the business communities of the two countries.

The Turkmen side, in turn, briefed the participants on the ongoing reforms initiated by the country’s leadership, which are providing strong momentum for the development of foreign trade and supporting Turkmenistan’s deeper integration into the global economy. In this context, the guests were informed about the country’s growing trade and export potential, driven by its substantial natural gas reserves, as well as exports of petroleum products, textiles, and agricultural goods.

Particular attention was given to the international business forums scheduled for this year, which traditionally bring together hundreds of business representatives from around the world.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their interest in identifying new avenues for mutually beneficial trade and emphasized the importance of active participation by business representatives in joint forums and exhibitions aimed at further strengthening bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
