Opening ceremony of Trade Facilitation Desk for Central Asia and Azerbaijan in the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On 01 March 2023, the opening ceremony of Trade Facilitation Desk for Central Asia and Azerbaijan was held at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).

The ceremony was attended by Ahsan Zafar Bakhtavari, President of ICCI, Leaders of ICCI, Ambassadors of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, counsellor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, representatives of business community and the mass media.

Speakers at the event, highlighting the traditional historical ties and the high level of political relations of Pakistan with Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan, expressed the need to expand trade and economic cooperation. In this regard, the Trade Facilitation Desk has been established in ICCI, which will facilitate the business-to-business contacts for the development of trade turnover, investment ties and, in general, trade and economic cooperation.

On the exhibition table of the Trade Facilitation Desk, information materials about the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan were placed. In particular, magazines about the domestic and foreign policy of Neutral Turkmenistan, as well as brochures and business directories about state and private companies of Turkmenistan were displayed.
