DELEGATION OF TURKMENISTAN IN THE OSCE MADE A STATEMENT ON THE RESULTS OF THE FIRST CASPIAN ECONOMIC FORUM

During the consecutive session of the OSCE Permanent Council held on the 5th of September 2019, the Delegation of Turkmenistan at the OSCE made an official statement on the outcomes of the First Caspian Economic Forum that took place in Turkmenbashy city on August 11-12, 2019.    

It was noted in the statement that President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Heads of the Governments of the Caspian states have participated to the work of the Forum.   Also, the Prime-ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Bulgaria took part in the event.  In addition, the heads and representatives of the respected international organizations and major financial-banking entities including the UN, OSCE, CIS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), EBRD, ADB and others participated to the Forum and its side events.         

The significance of the Caspian Economic Forum that has become a platform for stirring up the cooperation between the countries of the Caspian region to a qualitatively new level as well as an instrument facilitating the economic growth in the region and beyond its borders has been highlighted.

It was also stated that during the Caspian Economic Forum the objectives and concrete steps aimed at raising the attractiveness of the Caspian countries’ economies were precisely defined which has been determined by the President of Turkmenistan as one of the main conditions for further active integration of the given region to the international economic space.
