Meeting on the Development of Transport and Logistics Cooperation Held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad

On 8 July 2026, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad with Mr. Babar Badat, former President of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) and Chairman of the transport and logistics company “TRANSHOLD”.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Babar Badat shared his impressions of his visits to Turkmenistan and highly appreciated the country’s policy of permanent neutrality, as well as Turkmenistan’s active role in promoting international cooperation.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on prospects for further development of cooperation in the international transport and logistics sector, experience-sharing in the field of logistics, and enhancing the efficiency of transport and transit corridors.

Particular attention was paid to the advantageous geographical location of Turkmenistan and the large-scale projects being implemented by the country aimed at developing international transport routes and strengthening its position as an important transport and logistics hub connecting Europe and Asia.

The parties emphasized the importance of expanding regional and international cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, improving the efficiency of cargo transportation, introducing modern logistics solutions, and promoting mutually beneficial partnerships.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in further developing cooperation in the transport and logistics sector and exchanged views on ways to enhance interaction and implement future joint initiatives.
