On May 13, 2026, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted participants of the International Young Diplomats School (IYDS) program of the Institute of Peace and Diplomatic Studies (IPDS).

The event was organized in connection with the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence and held under the year’s motto: “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses.” The gathering highlighted Turkmenistan’s steadfast commitment to peace, permanent neutrality, and the preservation of its rich national traditions.

During the meeting, representatives of the Embassy briefed the young diplomats on Turkmenistan’s foreign policy priorities, which are grounded in the principles of permanent neutrality, peaceful coexistence, good neighborliness, mutual respect, and constructive international cooperation. Special attention was given to Turkmenistan’s initiatives aimed at promoting regional stability, strengthening transport and transit connectivity, advancing energy diplomacy, and expanding humanitarian cooperation.

Ambassador A.Movlamov also emphasized the fraternal and friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Pakistan, while introducing participants to Turkmenistan’s history, culture, geography, and growing geopolitical significance in the region.

An interactive discussion followed, during which participants raised questions regarding the role of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality in addressing regional and international challenges, opportunities for investment cooperation, and prospects for enhanced collaboration in the transport, transit, and energy sectors. Detailed responses were provided to the participants.

At the conclusion of the event, certificates of IYDS were presented to the participants. Participants of the International Young Diplomats School program, representing youth from various regions of Pakistan, highly appreciated the event and expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn about the foreign policy priorities of Turkmenistan.
