On 1 July 2026, diplomats of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad, 1st Secretary/Consul B.A.Yazov and 2nd Secretary E.B.Permanov paid a visit to the National Language Promotion Department under the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

During the visit, they met with the Director General of the Department, Professor Muhammad Saleem Mazhar. The meeting focused on prospects for further strengthening Turkmen–Pakistani cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. The two sides discussed expanding literary and academic exchanges, enhancing cooperation between educational and research institutions, and implementing joint initiatives aimed at promoting the national languages, literature, and the rich historical and cultural heritage of both countries.

Professor Muhammad Saleem Mazhar presented the Embassy of Turkmenistan a collection of textbooks, scholarly publications, and reference works dedicated to the teaching, study, and promotion of the Urdu language.

The Turkmen diplomats expressed their sincere appreciation for the valuable donation, highlighting the academic and cultural significance of the collection. They noted that the books will be presented to the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, where they will become part of the institute's library holdings and serve as an important resource for students, researchers, and faculty members engaged in language studies and scholarly research.

Concluding the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to deepening humanitarian cooperation, strengthening academic partnerships, and fostering greater cultural exchange between Turkmenistan and Pakistan.
